Trancoso
The generous nature of the old settlement, founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century, was the privilege of its few inhabitants until it was discovered by hippies in the 1970s. Since then, the small village has grown but the essence of Trancoso, as well as its main attributes, continue the same.
During the day, the beautiful beaches invite tourists and natives for walks on the white sand and the view from the lookout behind the São João Batista Church is indescribable.
At night, strolling and visiting the beautiful and sophisticated shops and boutiques installed in the simple little houses of the Quadrado, which were former fishermen's homes, contrasts with the local craft fair.
Savor typical and international foods in the candlelit restaurants in a romantic and welcoming atmosphere, although you can eat delicious tapioca and acarajé sitting in the square.
